ABOUT US

The Friends of Cheyenne Cañon

The Friends of Cheyenne Cañon, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, work hand-in-hand with the City of Colorado Springs Parks Department to keep Colorado Springs' oldest and most cherished regional park maintained for the present and the future of our City.

With your membership fees, we will restore the original Bruin Inn located at the base of Helen Hunt Falls, rebuild trails and landscaping in the area (the Helen Hunt Falls Area Fund), help rebuild trails around the part, maintain and keep the Cañon clean, and continue to provide funding to establish educational programs for children and adults such as the Award Winning Andy's Animal Senses Program at the Starsmore and Helen Hunt Visitor Centers.

We hope you will be able to help us in our efforts by either donating and becoming a member or volunteering with our great group of nature lovers.

Through an endowment called the Mary Starsmore Fund endowed by Mary Starsmore as well as support from the  Friends of Cheyenne
Cañon, the Starsmore Discovery Center is able to provide quality programs and facilities for years to come.  We are not the same organization as the Starsmore Center but work hand-in-hand to enhance the experience in North Cheyenne Cañon in the background and during events as the facilitators of these experiences and fund raisers.
