| In North Cheyenne Cañon Park there are great hiking, biking and equestrian trails, waterfalls including Helen Hunt Falls and St. Mary's Falls, two educational Visitor Centers (Starsmore Discovery Center and Helen Hunt Falls) offering brochures, maps, and program information), geocaching opportunities, a real rock, indoor climbing area (at the Starsmore Discovery Center). Additional outdoor amenities include, picnic areas, off-road parking, wildlife watching, and places to set up your easel or tripod for artwork or photography. |
Cyclists return regularly because of the great selection of bike trails and challenging mountain roads in North Cheyenne Canon Park
| By vehicle you can view stunning canyon rock formations, mountain forests, wildlife and waterfalls. Also, plan to attend special events like Canvases in the Canon (artshow and sale), Canya Cañon (a run/walk/bike race up and backdown the Columbine Trail or North Cheyenne Cañon Road). At the visitor centers investigate Pike's Pack and learn what Zebulon Pike, Colorado Springs most well-known explorer, carried with him on his 1806 expedition.
For the picnick-er in you, check out the picnic area just across the street from Starsmore Discovery Center. Above Starsmore, the Mesa Picnic Area provides two covered pavalions for large groups (by reservation only). On a first come first serve basis, the Bruin Picnic Area just below Helen Hunt Falls provides tables for creekside dining .
Please use the Bear-resistant trash cans found at special locations within the park.
