Cheyenne Canon Camp: The Canon Rocks!

The Cañon Rocks! This spring break camp program in North Cheyenne Canon Park will focus on the
geology of the Canon and Colorado Springs in general with a wild excursion trip to Garden of the
Gods and Red Rocks Park this year! All rocks, all the time from the formation of mountains to erosion
patterns we can see everywhere. Campers will be outside discovering how people used this canon from
prehistoric times and flint-knap simple tools, to gold panning the way the pioneers did during the gold
rush. Hands-on and multi-media displays guide campers in the geologic history of the region, roam the
rocky habitats of plants and animals, and finish up the week with our rock climbing wall at Starsmore, try
bouldering techniques along the creek, create mosaic stepping stones, join in a rock n’roll dance party
and more! Campers will explore geology through science experiments, art, related activities and games
every day.

Parents may sign up their young explorers for the week, for only a half day (9am-12pm) all week or on a
drop in basis for a day. *

Date: March 26 – March 30

Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Cost: $155 non-members; $145 members (Friends of Cheyenne Canon)

AM half day option available (9am-12pm for five days): $85/$75

Daily Drop In: $35

Before Care: 7:30 am drop off: $15

After care: 5:45 pm pick up: $25

AM/PM Care: $40

Campers will need:

Sack lunch

Backpack with water bottle, sunscreen, hat, jacket and sturdy shoes. Dress for the weather

Snacks will be provided.

Free! North Cheyenne Cañon cinch sack for each camper!

*Only campers that are registered for the entire week will receive a cinch sack,
