Climbing
To climb in this or any city park, the City of Colorado Springs requires all climbers to obtain an annual climbing permit. These permits are available, year-round, for free, at Garden of the Gods Visitor Center, 1805 N. 30th Street, 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., 7 days a week.
North Cheyenne Cañon has some of the best climbing routes with great expansive views to choose from.. Some of the outdoor routes are less accessible during the peak winter snow season. Please call the Forest Ranger Station at 719-836-2031during winter for trail and climbing conditions.
This narrow canyon has been sculpted by the meandering North Cheyenne Cañon Creek over thousands of years. The Canyon walls are lined with stunning rock precipices with cracks, buttresses, ledges, and alcoves. Click here to learn more about the Geology of this Canyon.
