Volunteering is a great way to give back to our community and to nature.  We have many great opportunities that require your time, talents, interests, and skills to help preserve the Cañon and increase awareness of its natural treasures.  If you would like to join us in these efforts please contact us today! Volunteer opportunities include:

Volunteering is important, but joining as members and donating to our organization ensures that we can provide both the facilities and the financial backing to make events and activities possible.

Volunteer

The Friends of Cheyenne Cañon partner with The City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Department in order to protect, preserve and enhance North Cheyenne Cañon City Park.  A City Volunteer Application is required for adult and teen volunteers who work a regular schedule for the visitor centers or as crew leaders for Trail Maintenance and Clean-up events.  The City of Colorado Springs has a secure volunteer database, which allows efficient communication with our volunteers concerning programs, events, schedules and service records. The City of Colorado Springs values volunteer service in North Cheyenne Cañon which amounted to 9,029 hours during 2010 at a value of $188,254.00.  Please join our team by filling out an application and choose North Cheyenne Cañon, Starsmore Discovery Center or Helen Hunt Falls as the site where you would like to volunteer.
